Our Programs

Summer Camp: Students from all schools, ages 5 through 12, can have tremendous fun while learning during the first three weeks of the August vacation at Eshe’s, ” STARR CAMP”- Success Through Academics Recreation and Reflection. STARR CAMP”s offerings include STARR CAMP ALL INCLUSIVE and STARR CAMP READING INTENSIVE from 8:00am to 11:30am. Students can be enrolled in either of these programmes based on the child’s academic needs. STARR CAMP READING INTENSIVE is particularly designed to support struggling readers and focuses on phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. STARR CAMP ALL INCLUSIVE, includes literacy (reading, creative writing, spelling) and math as its morning schedule. From 12:30 to 3:00pm all students participate in eight exciting activities which include dance, forensic science, social chef and steel pan amongst others. What makes STARR CAMP unique is its emphasis on reflective thinking, the missing ingredient in our national curriculum.

Steelpan: Students in our Junior, Middle and Upper school learn to play our national instrument, the steelpan. This exposure has positioned many of our students as excellent players when they enter the secondary school.

Homework Clinic: Our Homework Clinic is open on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, weekly from 2:30pm to 4:00pm Students are supported in both the understanding and completion of their home work assignments.

Clubs: Our clubs support the holistic education of our students.
Photography, board games, computer technology, dance, storytelling, drama, outdoor games and sign language are just some of the options from which students can choose.

Hockey: Our hockey teams have over the years, won many regional competitions. Trained by a competitive coach at the Woodbrook Sports Facility, our students learn not only the rudiments of the sport but also cultivate positive attitudes towards sportsmanship and teamwork.

Swimming: Swimming is an extracurricular activity offered to students and facilitated by Eastern Aquatic Services Ltd. The curriculum is approved by the Ministry of Education and caters to all students whatever their ability.

Jump Rope: Recreation, fitness, podium finishes are all goals of the Jump Rope Federation. Jump Rope is yet another extracurricular activity offered at Eshe’s. Two of our students have represented Trinidad and Tobago at competitions in Orlando and France.
